A. While some customers may not notice the presence of the worm infection at all on their computer systems, typical symptoms may include Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 systems rebooting every few minutes without user input or Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 systems becoming unresponsive
Q. How do I update Windows?
A. Download and install the security update addressed in Security Bulletin MS03-026 for the version of Windows that you are using. When you click the appropriate link above, a dialog box appears. To begin the download process, do one of the following:
Start the installation immediately by clicking, Open or Run this program from its current location.
If you wish, you may copy the download to your computer for installation. To do this, click Save or Save this program to disk. After saving, open the file and follow the installation instructions, keeping in mind where you saved the file.
A. This worm is able to get around the anti-virus program you have by directly attacking Windows itself. Onvoy recommends to keep your Anti-Virus and computer software always updated. Some users for additionally protection may wish to install a firewall. Here are some links to common firewall software which you may use. Please keep in mind that Onvoy does NOT support firewalls, so use the firewalls AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Additionally, Windows 2000 users can configure TCP/IP Filtering. Users may find out more about this by visiting the Microsoft website.
